RAMADAN 2010 - The 19th Day

Every self will taste death. You will be paid your wages in full on the Day of Resurrection. Anyone who is distanced from the Fire and admitted to the Garden has triumphed. The life of this world is just the enjoyment of delusion. (Surah Al ‘Imran, 185)

Ponder on death a lot. Allah opens the heart of that person who thinks about death a lot and makes death easy for him. (Narrated by Abu Huraira)

The outlook of believers on the life of this world

"The life of the world is nothing but a game and a diversion. The abode of the hereafter—that is truly Life, if they only knew it." (Surat al-'Ankabut, 64)

Allah has created this world as a temporary place to put man to the test, to purify him of his wrongdoings, to make him attain a soul worthy of paradise and to reveal the evil of disbelievers… Very few people, however, ponder upon and grasp this truth: it is they who are the people of faith.

The outlook on life of a believer who has attained faith is based on this very important fact which is stressed in the Qur'an. Unlike disbelievers, such a person does not feel attached to the life of this world. On the contrary, he strives for the life in the hereafter. Aware that he is created "to serve Allah alone", he remembers the verse, "I only created jinn and man to worship Me." (Surat adh-Dhariyat, 56)

Serving Allah is not limited to observing some forms of worship such as the regular saying of prayers or fasting. On the contrary, being Allah's servant encompasses the entire life of the individual. A believer of perfected faith is one who may be defined as spending his entire life serving Allah. He lives for Allah alone, works for Allah alone, and devotes all his resources to the cause of Allah. He is truly aware that this world is but a place of trial. In the Qur'an, Allah draws attention to this: "We created man from a mingled drop to test him, and We endowed him with hearing and sight." (Surat al-Insan, 2)

Allah, moreover, draws attention to the deceptive nature of this world and warns people:

Mankind! Allah's promise is true. Do not let the life of the world delude you and do not let the Deluder delude you about Allah. (Surah Fatir, 5)

People of faith are those who are not deceived by the beauties of the life of this world, no matter how enticing they may seem. This is because the book of Allah has shown them the true face of the life of this world. As the Qur'an puts it, the life of this world is "a game", "an amusement", "pomp", "boasting among people" and "a vying in the multiplication of wealth and children". The following analogy in the Qur'an makes the nature of this world clear:

Know that the life of this world is merely a game and a diversion, ostentation and a cause of boasting among yourselves and trying to outdo one another in wealth and children. It is like the plant-growth after the rain which delights the cultivators, but then it withers and you see it turning yellow, and then it becomes broken stubble. In the hereafter there is terrible punishment but also forgiveness from Allah and His pleasure. The life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion. (Surat al-Hadid, 20)

As this example reveals, nothing in this world can resist the detrimental effects of time; neither beautiful mansions, eye-catching cars, gorgeous landscapes, nor young people with brilliant careers can save themselves… Everything new wears out, young people grow old… Time crushes the most precious of good things and makes them lose all their charm. The most cherished moments pass quickly and become history. After some time, everything good becomes a faint memory. In one verse, Allah informs us of the passions that make man feel attached to this world:

To mankind the love of worldly appetites is painted in glowing colours: women and children, and heaped-up mounds of gold and silver, and horses with fine markings, and livestock and fertile farmland. All that is merely the enjoyment of the life of this world. The best homecoming is in the presence of Allah. (Surah Al 'Imran, 14)

The common trait of the worldly blessings stressed in the verse above is their temporary and limited nature. For this reason, nothing exists in this world to which man can greedily attach himself. Neither the physical make-up of man, which is simply of bones and flesh, nor other material things, all of which are very vulnerable and ultimately perishable, allow man to attach himself to this world. The blessings we see around us are but imperfect copies of the blessings of paradise and are created with the purpose of foreshadowing the hereafter.

Believers who have grasped this important fact receive the best benefits possible in this world. But there is one essential difference between them and those who are allured by this world; they don't feel greedy for these blessings. On the contrary, they feel grateful to Allah for what He has bestowed upon them, because, they know that the real owner of all things on earth is Allah.

Those who assume that they possess property, beauty or power in fact deceive themselves, because it is not they who have created all these things. They are incapable of creating even a single one of them. Furthermore, they cannot prevent them from disappearing. They are beings who are created themselves… One day, they will certainly taste death, leaving behind everything that belongs to this life. Awareness of the verse, "These people love this fleeting world and have put the thought of a Momentous Day behind their backs". (Surat al-Insan, 27) is what distinguishes people of perfected faith from those who live in a state of heedlessness. People of perfected faith prepare themselves for the next life rather than for this one. The Qur'an records the prayers of such people:

And there are others who say, "Our Lord, give us good in the world, and good in the hereafter, and safeguard us from the punishment of the Fire." (Surat al-Baqara, 201)

In return for their sincere behaviour and prayers, Allah gives them the blessings of this world and the hereafter alike. Allah gives the glad tidings of this in the Qur'an as follows:

So Allah gave them the reward of this world and the best reward of the hereafter. Allah loves the righteous. (Surah Al 'Imran, 148)

There is good news for them in the life of this world and in the hereafter. There is no changing the words of Allah. That is the great victory! (Surah Yunus, 64)

The Equilibriums that Make Life Possible

Examining the earth, we can make the list of the "essential factors for life" a long as we please. The American astronomer Hugh Ross has made a list of his own:

Surface Gravity;

- If stronger: atmosphere would retain too much ammonia and methane
- If weaker: planet's atmosphere would lose too much water
Distance From Parent Star;
- If farther: planet would be too cool for a stable water cycle
- If closer: planet would be too warm for a stable water cycle
Thickness of crust;
- If thicker: too much oxygen would be transferred from the atmosphere to the crust
- If thinner: volcanic and tectonic activity would be too great
Rotation period;
-If longer: diurnal temperature differences would be too great
-If shorter: atmospheric wind velocities would be too great
Gravitational interaction with moon;
- If greater: tidal effects on the oceans, atmosphere, and rotational period would be too severe
- If less: orbital obliquity changes would cause climatic instabilities
Magnetic Field;
- If stronger: electromagnetic storms would be too severe
- If weaker: inadequate protection from hard stellar radiation
Albedo (Ratio of Reflected light to total amount falling on surface);
- If greater: runaway ice age would develop
- If less: runaway greenhouse effect would develop
Oxygen to nitrogen ratio in the atmosphere;
- If larger: advanced life functions would proceed too quickly
- If smaller: advanced life functions would proceed too slowly
Carbon dioxide and water vapor levels in atmosphere;
- If greater: runaway greenhouse effect would develop
- If less: greenhouse effect would be insufficient
Ozone level in Atmosphere;
- If greater: surface temperature would be too low
- If less: surface temperatures would be too high; there would be too much uv radiation at the surface
Seismic Activity;
- If greater: too many life-forms would be destroyed
- If less: nutrients on ocean floors (from river runoff) would not be recycled to the continents through tectonic uplift.

These are just some of the "design decisions" that had to be made in order for life to exist and survive. But even these are enough to show that the earth did not come into being as a result of chance nor was it formed as a result of a lucky chain of events.

These and a myriad other details reaffirm a plain and simple truth: God and God alone created the universe, the stars, planets, mountains, and seas perfectly, giving life to human beings and other living things, and placing His creations under the control of mankind. God and God alone, the source of mercy and might, is powerful enough to create something from nothingness.

This perfect creation of God is described in the Qur'an thus:

Are you stronger in structure or is heaven? He built it. He raised its vault high and made it level. He darkened its night and brought forth its morning light. After that He smoothed out the earth and brought forth from it its water and its pastureland and made the mountains firm for you and for your livestock to enjoy. (Surat an-Nazi'at, 27-33)

 Adnan Oktar tells: Signs leading to faith

AZ-ZAHIR
The Evident; The Outward

He is the First and the Last, the Outward and the Inward. He has knowledge of all things. ( Surat al-Hadid, 57:3)

The signs of Allah's existence, which are spread throughout the universe, are evident for all people of understanding. Grasping Allah's existence demands no more than a careful scrutiny into one's surroundings, for the universe abounds with signs of creation. From the simplest to the most complex ones, all systems reveal a network of miracles that present even more mysteries as one makes an in-depth analysis. In the Qur'an, Allah gives the following examples of these miracles:

Have they not looked at the sky above them: how We structured it and made it beautiful, and how there are no fissures in it? And Earth: how We stretched it out and cast firmly embedded mountains onto it and caused luxuriant plants of every kind to grow in it? (Surah Qaf, 50:6-7)

Have they not looked at the birds above them, with wings outspread and folded back? Nothing holds them up but the All-Merciful. He sees all things. ( Surat al-Mulk, 67:19)

Allah splits the seed and kernel. He brings forth the living from the dead, and produces the dead out of the living. That is Allah, so how are you deluded? He splits the sky at dawn, and appoints the night as a time of stillness and the Sun and the Moon as a means of reckoning. That is what the Almighty, the All-Knowing has ordained. He has appointed the stars for you so you might be guided by them in the darkness of the land and sea. We have made the Signs clear for people who have knowledge. ( Surat al-An‘am, 6:95-97)

No doubt, these are just a few examples. Elsewhere, Allah reminds His servants of His existence through many examples. One of their most telling attributes is that they ponder over everything they see and gradually comprehend Allah's existence and greatness. As we mentioned above, each detail in our universe makes us feel that we were created.

People of intelligence who recognize Allah's greatness and power surely feel an inner awe toward our Creator, Who will call each one of them to account for their deeds in the Hereafter. Therefore, they spend their lives striving to earn His good pleasure. In one verse, Allah says the following:

Those who remember Allah, standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and Earth: “Our Lord, You have not created this for nothing. Glory be to You! So safeguard us from the punishment of the Fire.” (Surah Al ‘Imran, 3:191)

Saying that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will appear at the beginning of the Hijri 1400s does not mean that he will be recognized as soon as he appears

Since we are now in Hijri 1430, 30 years have passed since the Hijri date provided by our Prophet (saas). In other words, as al-Barzanji describes, there are at least another 10 years until Hazrat Mahdi (as) is recognized and until his spiritual and intellectual dominion over the world.

The way that some people suggest, on the basis of no reliable evidence and no hadiths, that “Hazrat Mahdi (as) will be immediately recognized as of Hijri 1400, and everyone will at once know that he is Hazrat Mahdi (as)” is a complete contravention of the ideas of Sunni scholars. Anyone making such a claim is opposing the belief of the Ahl al-Sunnah. That is because, for instance, the great Sunni scholar Al-Barzanji made this statement about the time needed for Hazrat Mahdi (as) to be recognized following his appearance:

(The following extract is from page 301 of the 10th Turkish edition of Muhammad Ibn Rasul al-Hussain al-Barzanji’s Al-Isha'ah li-ashrat al-sa'ah translated into Turkish by Naim Erdogan.)

FOUR, FIVE OR EVEN TEN YEARS ARE REGARDED AS THE FIRST YEARS OF THE CENTURY. ACCORDINGLY, THAT HAZRAT MAHDI (AS) WILL APPEAR SEVEN, NINE OR THIRTY YEARS BEFORE THE HUNDREDTH YEAR IS NO OBSTACLE TO HIS COMING AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CENTURY... THE SAME APPLIES IF HIS APPEARANCE IS AFTER THAT PERIOD. (Al-Barzanji, Al-Isha'ah li-ashrat al-sa'ah, p. 301)

Al-Barzanji thus states that even 4, 5 or 10 years after the year 1400 according to the Islamic calendar can be accepted as the early 1400s. Indeed, as Imam Rabbani says;

AT THE HEAD OF EACH CENTURY, ALLAH SENDS A MUJADDID among the scholars of this community who revives the Law of Allah [the essence of Qur'anic moral values and the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas)]. (Imam Rabbani, Letters of Rabbani, 1/520)

That HAZRAT MAHDI (AS) WILL BE RECOGNIZED 7, 9 OR EVEN 30 YEARS BEFORE OR AFTER THE HIJRI YEAR 1400 is no obstacle to his coming in the year 1400. Even if these situations do prevail Hazrat Mahdi (as) will still have emerged at the beginning of Hijri 1400.

This statement by Al-Barzanji, a reliable Sunni scholar, is an exceedingly significant reply to those to seek to cover up, shroud or conceal the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (as) by making irrational and illogical claims along the lines of "Since Hazrat Mahdi (as) was not immediately identified by people in Hijri 1400, he has not appeared, and although 30 years have passed since Hijri 1400 the great portents have still not come about, meaning that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will not be coming in this century but will happen in some other century…” Even if Hazrat Mahdi (as) appears before Hijri 1400 or 7, 9 or 30 years after it, he is still the awaited Great Mahdi (as). By Allah’s leave, none of these cases can alter this truth revealed in trustworthy hadiths of our Prophet (saas).

The Deception That Therapsids Are Transitional Forms

Darwinists engage in propaganda to the effect that the therapsids, which he describes as “reptiles with moustaches,” are an intermediate form between reptiles and mammals.

This claim is invalid because:

- The lower jaw in mammals consists of a single bone, compared to three bones in reptiles. Darwinists maintain that the extra bones in reptiles gradually turned into mammals’ inner ear bones, which is why they try to point to the therapsids, which have two jaw bones, as transitional forms. But this is a deception. The therapsids, a kind of dinosaur, HAVE NOT A SINGLE CHARACTERISTIC SIMILAR TO THOSE OF MAMMALS.  In addition, the fact that one life form has similarities to another life form does not show that one is descended from the other.

- The claim concerned contains serious logical flaws that totally refute Darwinism. It is impossible for jaw bones to migrate to such a complex organ as the ear as the result of supposed mutations. Darwinists have no answer to give to the questions of how, according to this claim, the mutations involved shrank the jaw bones in such a way as to make them ear bones, how they assumed the ideas shape and size, how muscles then formed around them, how balance was established in the middle ear and how the animal managed to continue hearing and using its jaw while all this was going on.

- Most importantly, THERE EXISTS NOT ONE SINGLE TRANSITIONAL FORM FOSSIL to back up this claim.

- Therapsids do not emerge in a chronological sequence of the kind Darwinists ascribe to living things. This means that there is no chronological transition in therapsid fossils from a reptilian jaw bone to a mammalian one.

- Darwinists build an artificial line of descent between reptiles and mammals. This is established by the entirely arbitrary mixture of various sub-groups and is based on no scientific evidence whatsoever.

According to the Darwinist claim, the imaginary line of descent established for the origin of mammals runs like this: anapsids, pelycosaurs, therapsids, cynodonts, early mammals and modern mammals.  SINCE THERE EXISTS NOT A SINGLE TRANSITIONAL FOSSIL to confirm this illusory sequence, THIS FAMILY TREE IS ENTIRELY INVALID.

The evolutionist and paleontologist Robert Carroll makes the following confessions on the subject:

 “The transition between pelycosaurs and therapsids has not been documented.”

In addition to all this, there are the following extraordinary differences between reptiles and mammals that Darwinists can never explain:

Mammals are warm-blooded → Reptiles are cold-blooded.

Mammals give birth to and suckle their young → Reptiles lay eggs and do not suckle their young.

Mammals are covered in fur → Reptiles are covered in scales.

These and many thousands more are all differences of which not even the tiniest stage can come about through random mutations.  In order to prove their claims, Darwinists would have to account for these differences and produce transitional form fossils as evidence for those changes. But they have no explanation to give and not a single transitional form fossil to support this false claim.

THE QUIVERING AND SWELLING OF THE EARTH

And you see the earth dead and barren. Then, when We send down water onto it, it quivers and swells and sprouts with luxuriant plants of every kind. (Surat al-Hajj, 5)

The Arabic word for "quivers" is "ihtazzat," meaning "to set in motion, come alive, quiver, move, stir; the movement and stretching of a plant." The word "rabat," translated as "swells," bears the meanings "to increase, grow in number, swell, grow, develop, rise (of a plant), provision, fill with air." These words describe in the most appropriate manner the changes that occur in the molecular structure of soil during rain.

The motion described in the verse is different from the movement of Earth's crust, such as when a portion of it moves to produce an earthquake, for it is only the soil particles that are moving. These particles are composed of layers, each of which is on top of the other. When water penetrates the layers, it causes the swelling of mud particles. The stages referred to in the verse can be scientifically explained as follows:

1. Quivering of the soil: The electrostatic charge on the particle surface that appears after the water falls on the soil in sufficient amount would cause its instability and quivering movements. This movement is stabilized only after this charge has been neutralized with an opposing one. The soil particle's moving and quivering is also due to its collision with water particles. Since the water particles move in no specific direction, the soil particles move as they are struck from all sides. Robert Brown, a Scottish botanist, discovered in 1827 that when raindrops fall on the soil, they cause a kind of shaking and vibration in the soil molecules. He described this movement of microscopic particles, which today is known as the "Brownian motion." (Brian J. Ford, "Brownian Movement in Clarkia Pollen: A Reprise of the First Observations," The Microscope, 1992, vol. 40, no. 4, pp. 235-241; http://www.brianjford.com/wbbrowna.htm)

2. Swelling of the soil: When it rains, those raindrops hitting the soil cause its particles to swell and increase in volume. This is because when there is abundant water, the space between soil particles, which allows water particles and dissolved ions to enter, increases. When water and the nourishing elements dissolved in it diffuse between the layers, the size of the soil particles increases. Consequently, these particles serve as water deposits that bring the soil to life. It is due to Allah's infinite grace upon humanity that this water is stored in this manner without seeping downward due to the action of gravity. If the soil could not hold water and these mineral deposits could not be laid down in the soil, the water would soak into Earth's deepest parts and, because of its resulting absence, all plants would soon die. However, our Lord has created the soil in such a way that various products can emerge from it.

3. Sprouting of the earth: When there is enough water in the soil, the seeds become active and absorb simple nutritious material. Growing plants meet their water requirements for 2 to 3 months from these deposits.

The above verse describes, in three stages, what happens when rain falls onto dry ground: the soil particles quiver, and the soil swells and then brings forth various products. These stages, which the Qur'an revealed 1,400 years ago, are strikingly parallel to the scientific descriptions. Another verse reveals this about plants:

A sign for them is the dead land that We bring to life and from which We bring forth grain, of which they eat. (Surah Ya Sin, 33)

CRAB

Age: 37-23 million years
Period: Oligocene
Location: Lyby, Denmark

The fossil record is rich enough to permit a general comprehension of the origin of living things and provides us with a definite scenario: Various species of living creatures appeared on Earth all at once, individually and without "evolving" through any intermediate forms. This is one of the proofs that Almighty God created all living creatures.

One of these fossils that demonstrates the clear fact of creation is shown here: the nearly 35-million-year-old remains of a crab.

This crab fossil was found in Denmark on the Limfjords coast. This type of fossil is quite commonly found in this area. Preserved in nodules, they usually emerge to the surface in winter or after periods of heavy rain. The rounded stones are split open to discover whether they contain fossils. If a fossil is found, it is prepared for exhibition using files and other tools.

This fossil demonstrates that there is no structural difference between crabs alive today and those alive roughly 35 million years ago, again proving the invalidity of evolutionist claims. If a creature has not undergone the slightest change in tens of millions of years, it is impossible to speak about the evolution of living things.

We will see more bankruptcy, yet turkey has a bright future

What He Said

Ekin TV, January 29-2009

Adnan Oktar: There is only one solution to this. There is only one solution both material and spiritual: Turkish-Islamic Union. A large, a huge Islamic Union composed of all Muslim countries in the leadership of Turkey and with the support of Turkic countries. This would be the most honest, the most decent, the most trustworthy and the most superb structure of the world… We are from the same ancestry, the same religion, the same race, everything about us is the same. There are lots of borders, let’s open them all. The borders of Azerbaijan should open, the borders of Georgia should open, the borders of Iran should open, the borders of Iraq should open, and the borders of Turkestan should open. We should be able to go and trade freely, talk and chat with one another. They are the dearest parts of us, our brothers. Why show passports when we go to their doors, we should be able to pass freely in our cars.

Çay TV, March 4-2009

Adnan Oktar: Why face with the wall or the door when we go there? For example, I go to my uncle’s house and the door is closed, I go to my other uncle’s house and the door is closed. Should I stay at home all alone? The doors of both Syria and Iraq should be opened, but especially Syria, it is a priority. The doors of Syria should be opened immediately. We would prosper greatly even if only Syria is opened. The situation would be very comfortable, both the craftsman and the public would be at ease. There would be great excitement in the spiritual sense since they are our dearest brothers and sisters. Above all, if the doors of Iran are opened, the case would be closed. We would ramp greatly and nothing would be able to stop Turkey with Allah’s leave.

What Happened

 Sabah, 10 February 2010

 The famous investor Jim Rogers argued that the debt crisis that shakes up the Europe will get deep by claiming; “This year, we will continue to face business bankruptcies in terms of countries.” Rogers also evaluated Turkey and expressed that Turkey has natural resources and the countries that have high reserves and ability to control them will race to be the world leader. Roger said:  “At the present conjuncture, Turkey seems to have a better future than many other countries.”

Darwin’s Dilemma: The Soul

Darwinists and materialists need to realize that the only absolute Entity is Allah. Confronted by this truth, all false faiths fall into an insuperable quandary. Allah has enfolded all things with His Sublime Might. All things belong to Him and are under His control.

This book considers the materialist error regarding the “absoluteness of matter,” Darwinism’s dilemma and the certain existence of the soul. The world that the soul perceives is merely an illusion, a phantom and the sole absolute Entity Who rules the entire universe is Allah. Henceforth, those with unclouded minds who understand this fact will look at the world from a different perspective and realize that Allah is their only savior. In order to attain salvation in the Hereafter, their true life, people need to behave in the light of that understanding.
